Welcome to my personal favorite page in my Notion setup. The Research Diary Database is meant to log your research, research materials, and progress. I also like to use this Database to brainstorm research ideas and keep narratives of my thoughts. If you create a new task below, you will find templates for diary entries (these are pretty self-explanatory). Similar to the Calendar, and Project Databases, you can associate each research diary entry with it’s relevant project, tasks, and references. In this database you will also find a property called “GitHub commit link”. While not necessary, I have set up an automation where every GitHub commit I make to specific projects, automatically triggers a new Research Diary entry here in Notion. The commit link is then automatically stored in the GitHub commit link field so I can easily see the version of the repo associated with each entry. You can use zapier to establish this automation pretty easily.]
